Private projects: invite readers from outside your team

A private project is a company project with no public link, opened to specific people outside your company by email. It is meant for people who should read one project and nothing else: a client following the work you do for them, a contractor who needs your conventions, a partner reading a shared playbook. Who can use it. Private is available on company projects only, so it needs the Team plan. Personal projects have two access levels, Members only and Public, and no Private. Turning it on. The project owner (or the company owner) opens the project's access settings and chooses Private. If the project was public, its link stops working, but everyone who already followed it stays. Inviting someone. In a private project, the owner and editors see an "Invite follower" button in the members list. Enter the person's email and they get an invitation to follow the project. The invitation is valid for 7 days and can be used once. They open it, sign in with that same email address (if they are new to Memocore, signing in with the one-time code creates their account), and accept or decline. Two cases are refused on purpose. Someone who is already a member of your company is not invited as a follower: add them to the project as an editor or viewer instead. And someone who is already in the project cannot be invited again. What a follower gets. Read-only access to this one project. They search and read its memos and download attachments, from the web and from their own AI client, including memos you add later. They cannot create, edit or delete anything. They do not see the member list, a memo's change history, deleted memos or the project's instructions, and they see nothing else in your company. A follower is not a company member and takes no seat, so invited readers cost you nothing. Their own searches count toward their own plan. Pending invitations. Owners and editors see how many invitations are still pending and can revoke any that has not been accepted yet. Removing a follower. The project owner (or the company owner) sees the list of followers and can remove any of them at any time. Access ends immediately. Changing the access level later. Switching to Public gives the project a link and keeps the invited followers. Switching to Members only removes every follower and cancels every pending invitation, which is the way to close the project to all outside readers at once. If the company subscription lapses, followers lose access along with everyone else until it is renewed, and new invitations cannot be accepted in the meantime. If a follower later joins your company. Once they accept an invitation to the company, every company project they followed turns into viewer access automatically, and you can then make them an editor like any other member.
