Teams and companies

A company (team) is a shared workspace with members and shared projects - one memory for your whole team, so decisions, docs and context live in shared project memory instead of in someone's head or a buried chat. Roles - there are two: - Owner: the person who created the company. Owners manage members, issue API keys, handle billing, and can export all company data. The company owner can also manage every company project - its members and its access level - even one they are not a member of. - Member: anyone invited in. Members can create company projects and are added to other ones as editors (read and write) or viewers (read-only). Inviting members: the owner invites people by email. The invite is a pending email invitation that expires after 7 days. The invitee accepts or declines; accepting takes up a seat. Invite links are single-use and secure. Seats: team plans are billed per seat, and each accepted member uses one seat. Team storage is also allocated per seat. People you invite by email to follow a private project are not company members and take no seat. Access isolation: each company project is separate, so members only see the projects they are part of. When a company subscription lapses, company projects become inaccessible until it is renewed, for members and followers alike (though owners can still export the data). What a company gives you that a personal plan does not, on top of the shared workspace itself: - Company API keys. Project-scoped keys an owner mints to reach the team's memory from their own product - searching it and creating memos in it. This is the one feature with no personal equivalent among developer tools. - Private projects with outside readers. A company project can be set to Private: there is no public link, and its owner and editors invite people outside the company - a client, a contractor, a partner - by email. They join as read-only followers, see only that project and take no seat. Personal projects cannot be private. - Unlimited public projects. Publishing a project behind a link is available on every plan, but personal plans cap how many you may have published at once (1 on Free, 2 on Pro, 5 on Max); a company has no cap.
