Freee is the most popular cloud accounting and filing service in the chat. Its base plan costs around 40,000 yen a year (with options around 50,000 yen a year for one-person companies), plus a separate electronic-filing subscription (freee申告) at around 30,000-50,000 yen a year for a KK. Keeping the blue-form ledger is free; only the export, needed once a year, is paid. Freee allows filing electronic notices without a separate e-Tax/gBizID setup and automatically files core employment documents (insurance, etc.) either directly or through e-Gov; it can generate a CSV for a bank batch salary transfer. Exporting returns in a format for direct electronic filing with a digital signature requires the separate paid freee申告 subscription, which many consider poor value for a once-a-year filing. The depreciable-asset declaration service through Freee costs around 50,000-65,000 yen a year, seen as expensive relative to the work involved; the consumption tax declaration service from an accountant through Freee costs around 40,000 yen a year. Separately, freee人事労務 (freee HR) is a distinct paid payroll service: the starting tier costs around 3,900 yen a month plus 600 yen per employee above 5, and does not allow printing payslips as PDFs except on the most expensive tier — even though the law requires issuing pay statements. The service is seen as complex and limited on the base tier; some prefer calculating salary by hand. Another estimate put the cost at around 36,000 yen a year, calling it an inexpensive way to automate salary calculation and hiring paperwork; the base tier (up to 5 employees) allows filing the July documents (社会保険) online with direct income tax payment via a built-in button. Yayoi (弥生) is an alternative cloud accounting service, less popular in the chat than Freee. UR Cloud charges around 16,500 yen a month (marketed as "10k yen" but effectively more); its annual price matches its "year-end only" service price, making the monthly plan the better value. Misoca is a free (up to 10 invoices a month) service for generating invoices to the Japanese standard, with wide-ranging settings for different cases.
