What Stayed the Same After the 2025 BM Visa Reform
Several core BM visa principles survived the 2025 reform unchanged: company-based issuance, uniform nationwide capital rules, and capital traceability rules.
A number of BM visa rules were not changed by the 2025 reform and carried over unchanged into the new criteria: the visa is issued to a company rather than to an individual; company ownership is not restricted by visa status (directorship is restricted); capital requirements are identical across Japan regardless of region; and the rules on contributing property to capital, transferring capital to the company account, and tracing the source of funds remain the same.
