Viewing menus and dishes
How menus work: dishes grouped by category with translated names, prices, photos, personalized recommendation stars, allergen warnings, and a Show to waiter mode for ordering.
A digital menu is a list of dishes grouped into categories. Menus can come from a user scan or from a restaurant partner. You reach menus from your own Menus list of scanned menus, from a shared menu link, or from a restaurant's page (including by scanning a table QR code). What a dish shows: - Each dish card shows the translated dish name, a short description, the price, and a photo when available. - A star marks a personalized recommendation — a dish predicted to match your tastes. - A warning icon flags a dish you may want to avoid based on your dietary preferences and allergies. - When a menu has recommended dishes, they are gathered into a Recommendations section at the top. If a menu has many categories, a category bar lets you jump between sections. Dish detail view: - Tapping a dish opens a fuller view with its photos (which you can enlarge), name, price, and full description. - It has a Show to waiter mode: this flips the card to the dish's original local-language name and a short phrase meaning I would like to order, so you can show your phone to staff to order. Back to dish returns to the translated view. Personal touches: - On your own scanned menus you can like individual dishes (a heart on the dish card) to remember what you enjoyed. - From a restaurant's page you can open its Menu, which lists that restaurant's dishes in the same format, with recommendations and allergen-aware warnings applied to your profile.
