# International Payments: SWIFT at SBI/SMBC/Prestia, Wise Business, and Crypto Exchanges

SBI Net Bank allows receiving foreign-currency transfers to a corporate account, but enabling the foreign-currency option can require a separate application and fee (one bank mentioned a 55,000 yen charge for the foreign-currency transfer/receipt service); in other cases the transfer is simply auto-converted to yen. SMBC requires a separate application for a foreign-currency account, taking about 3 weeks to process. Prestia offers multi-currency accounts immediately and can be opened online.

Wise Business: company registration takes about 15 minutes, but there is a holding limit of 1 million yen, and any excess must be withdrawn within 30 days (wise.com/help/articles/3GBSRou4DTXxYz1piNbzN5/holding-limits-if-you-live-in-japan). Wise accepts holders of Russian passports without issue as long as they have a Japanese residence card, a Japanese address, and a Japanese phone number; a Russian registration address or phone number leads to a ban. Registering a corporate account in Wise requires an actual business account under the Japanese company, not a personal one; the company name entered in Wise must match the name on record for the recipient. Activating bank-account connections and getting local currency/SWIFT details requires paying a 3,000 yen fee for the paid tier. There is a limit of 75 currency conversions per day on business accounts; exceeding it triggers a 24-hour block.

Among crypto exchanges for corporate activity, bitflyer was mentioned, though opening a corporate account there can take over a month due to verification delays.
