# Connecting your AI client (MCP setup)

Memocore connects to your AI tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You connect one endpoint and your assistant can then save and recall your memories from any chat. Nothing to install.

The quickest way: open https://memocore.ai/mcp - it has step-by-step instructions with screenshots for each client, and you don't need an account to open it.

The MCP endpoint is the same address: https://memocore.ai/mcp

Setup by client:
- ChatGPT: install the Memocore plugin from ChatGPT's plugin catalogue. The "ChatGPT plugin" button on memocore.ai/mcp opens it.
- Claude (web, desktop and mobile apps): open Settings → Connectors, click Add and choose Add custom connector, name it Memocore and paste https://memocore.ai/mcp.
- Cursor: one click. Use the "Cursor" button on memocore.ai/mcp.
- VS Code: one click. Use the "VS Code" button on memocore.ai/mcp.
- Claude Code: run this in your terminal - claude mcp add --transport http memocore https://memocore.ai/mcp
- Other MCP clients: add a new server of type HTTP and paste https://memocore.ai/mcp.

The first time a client connects, you approve access on a consent screen ("[client] wants to access your memocore account - Approve / Deny"). This authorizes that client to read and write your memory on your behalf. You can confirm which account a client is acting for at any time.

Because the memory lives on Memocore's servers (not inside any single conversation), it persists across chats and across every client you connect. Connect it once and every assistant shares the same memory.
